With the development of the Suburban Hockey Club at Suburban Ice-Farmington Hills, the Michigan Icebreakers will now be an all-girls hockey club. This past season the Icebreakers had boys teams at the 1994 and 1996 age groups along with their girls teams. The boys teams will now be part of the SHC, which will have A and AA Suburban Stars teams at all levels. The Suburban Hockey Club for boys will also include B (house) teams at the Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam levels and the Suburban Fundamental Program for Mighty Mites (ages 4-6) and Mini Mites (ages 5-8).
The Michigan Icebreakers Girls Hockey Club, the largest all-girls hockey club in the state, will have Michigan Icebreaker teams (formed by tryouts) at the 12U, 14U, 16U, 19U and Senior B age groups. Other members of the club will include all-girls "house" league teams at the 10U, 12U and 14U age groups, and the Adorabelles (ages 4-6) and Incredibelles (ages 5-8).
